Pharmacy Tech Certification
What is Pharmacy Tech certification?
Pharmacy tech certification is designed to give you the skills and knowledge in order to be able to make a contribution to your employer from day one. Rather than learning as you go along, once you have passed your pharmacy tech certification, you should be able to carry out a range of tasks and procedures with minimal supervision or explanation from a more highly qualified Pharmacist. You may learn how to read prescriptions and prepare medicines according to the instructions. You may need to dilute solutions or make up a particular concentration. You may also learn how to count tablets, measure dosages, and select appropriate packaging required for different pharmaceuticals. Labeling, stocktaking, ordering, ethics, customer service, and law may also be courses covered.

How can Pharmacy Tech Certification Increase My Ability to Secure a Job and Succeed in this Career?
The traditional method of learning as you go along is losing favor in many pharmacies for various reasons. The quality of training is variable and depends on the free time a Pharmacist has available to teach you. Pharmacy tech certification means that you can prove to a potential employer that you have the requisite skills and knowledge rather than trying to find out what you know and what you do not. With pharmacy tech certification, your employer may be far more willing to allow you more responsibility for other tasks, making you a valuable member of the team.
