Pharmacy Office Assistant
What are Pharmacy Office Assistant Responsibilities? Your duties may be variable depending on the state in which you work. Most duties are clerical in nature, so you may be receiving and dealing with queries and requests by mail, telephone, or email. You may have to log data for the purposes of insurance claims, billing, and medical records. You may be responsible for receiving and requesting payment. In some cases you may also be responsible for cleaning equipment or stocktaking
What is an Average Day For a pharmacy office assistant? Most Pharmacy Office Assistants will deal with phone messages, emails and mail that arrives in the morning. You may separate urgent from non-urgent requests. Having passed on urgent requests to the Pharmacist, you may then file receipts, enter data for medical billing, or liaise with other staff in order to complete any information missing from records. You may prepare invoices, or reports using templates. You might also take deliveries, unpack stock, stack shelves, and store merchandize. There is usually a lot of stock, many requests, and many people to deal with. It is important that detailed records are kept of drugs, interactions, payments received, owed, and disputed.
